Awarded Greek Beach
Alykes is a Blue Flag awarded beach and it’s located 9km SE of Volos. The beach stretches for 5 km and has an organized beach, free spaces, cafés, restaurants and hotels.
Along the beach, you will find many restaurant with souvlaki, cafeterias, bars and two large beach bars in the area, ideal for cocktails and dancing.
Hiking is the most popular alternative activity for everyone. Magnesia is ideal for hiking trips any time of the year, helping its visitors to admire Pelion landscape and discover its well-hidden treasures.
One of the routes nearby Alykes is the trail that connects the village of Agios Stefanos(Soros) with the village of Kritharia and it’s about 9 km.
The route is special, as it is probably the most coastal trail in Greece, with magnificent views. It passes by many magnificent beaches, about ten in number, and among the most characteristic images, the chapel of Agios Nikolaos, built on a rock in the sea, dominates.
Cycling
Αn alternative way to move between the city of Volos and Alykes is the 6.5 km bike path that passes through the settlement of Pefkakia. The surrounding landscape is green, full of trees and several spots are shady. The path is also ideal for a walk with your dog.
