Volos & Pelion
Volos is very close to the beautiful villages of Pelion, the wonderful beaches of the Pagasitikos Gulf and the Aegean Sea and the islands of the Northern Sporades. The mountain villages of Vizitsa, Makrinitsa, Portaria and Chania, where the ski centre of Pelion is located, are a pole of attraction. For summer getaways there are numerous options both in the Pagasitikos Gulf and on the Aegean side, such as Agioi Saranta, Ai Giannis, Milopotamos etc.
Gastronomic Experience
One of the characteristic features of Volos is the vibrancy of the city, the lively life and the famous tsipouradika, which is a tradition that originated from the Asia Minor refugees and is still kept to this day. Enjoy the well-established tsipouro accompanied by meze and fresh fish, caravidomakaronades and seafood by the sea along the beach. In the traditional tavernas you will find local flavours such as mountain mushrooms, spedzofai, tsichirafla, delicious pies, sausages and meat from local producers.
